Watched the first part in a video series featureing interviews with Tim Gunn about super hero costumes through the ages. They were talking about the redesign of Bat Woman and how he would have preferred to just see her orriginal costume get updated.

I tried to make it less sucky, even threw in some gothy inspired bits. I still don't know that I'd take a hero seriously if they're swinging a purse.

Stuff for a new game of Mutants and Masterminds I'm starting in 2-3 weeks. It's really just way too easy to let these things slide. Especially when I'm traveling from Everett to Capitol Hill and all points in between for games and Karaoke.

Warehouse

For boxes and underlings.

Being an underling guarding a warehouse is probably the worst job in the world. There's a 50% chance of being killed by some vigilante or your own evil boss. And the chances of being killed by your own evil boss is pretty high to begin with.

Teen Tease

When she went through her tween super-hero phase.

She was part of a teen super-team sensation. Even had a loveable animal sidekick. Of course they all grew up and went their seperate ways.

I'm sure someone thought of this pairing before.

It was just fun making up the character.

Invaders Must Die

We are the Prodigy.

I started with a simple script:
Panel 1: "Attention American City. We are the Lone Wolves."
Panel 2: "We have come to crush all challengers, drive them before us, and hear the lamentations of your women."
Panel 3: "We might take exception to that."

So, first try. Problems: Flame Hammer looks like a total chode. Pannel 2 is boring, and I didn't even feel like trying to squeeze a close-up into panel 3. The Red Legion are crowded into the corner. Taki the cyber samurai is too far to the side and the pose is wrong. Atomic Lincoln is only about 40%. And I'm not entirely happy with Tease. Mainly that she's too far back; she's in charge, she needs to be up close in the front of the panel. There's too much white space around Tease; this is supposed to be a big hero team, they need to be packed into the panel.


Second try:
Flame Hammer looks more diabolical and more dynamic in panel 2. I ditched panel 3 altogether. Tease is more forefront, Atomic Lincoln looks ready to rumble, Terrier and Taki are filling up the lower right side better. I changed the panel distribution as well and gave a lot more room to the heroes.

Trying Too Hard

Really wanted this to be another keen action shot for Tease. So of course it sucked.

I'm so sick of M. Night Shamalahaan. I finally sat down and did some drawing tonight. This was the best thing that came out of it. It's been a while since I drew Tease. If only I could say I spent all night drawing, but really, I spent about 2 hours reorganizing my pictures. Because I'm obsessive-compulsive and don't like work.

Acid: Do Not Throw In Face

Otherwise, you have to wear a silly mask the rest of your life.

Another poor sketch of the viglante/hero/anti-hero based on my handle: Mr. Popular. He fights crime and sometimes commits crimes; but only for money. He shoots people sometimes, but he's always sure to put a self-adhesive smiley face bandage on them afterwards.

I watched Gremlins for the first time. This movie terrified me as child. Today it's awesome.
