Unfinished in that there are a lot of details to fix an colors to add. I'm inking these out of order because I'm re-drawing some of them as I go. Tonight I wanted to ink, not pencil, so I did this page. Which I feel hangs together pretty well. Some dialogue to fix and backgrounds to add still. Oh yeah, there's a color shift to delineate between past and present story, which you can imagine takes place at the wide black band 2/3 of the way down the page. Anywhoo; off to bed.
God! I can't believe I wrote this! Ugh. But it's the only thing I've got in production right now and I'm damn well gonna finish it.
Well, we got some more bodies stacking up. Looks like everybody but Mehari had an unhappy ending to their story. And she's not a particularly happy individual.
Things didn't go so well over in the R&D department. And our bright young thing is no where to be found. Page 10 of 12. Almost there!
So, Dr. Carpenter arrives in his new digs. But something seems amiss. Whatever happened to that stunning young woman who spirited him away? And why does his neck itch where she kissed him?
I had to get this done. Get it out of my head so I could go to work on something, anything else. But hey, now it's done. Only 11 1/2 more to go.
Once I have a moment to fill in all the rest of the crap. And decide on whether to fill the rest with black or white shadows and highlights or somekind of color.
Drawing Mehari in a realistic sitting position aint easy. I wanted a fine wroght-iron stool and a pile of guns behind her. More likely I'll end up with an easy chair. But of course, it will probably end up a ridiculously tall chair. Still, stack of guns and computers: all-night project there. Good times.
Or something. It really scanned too light to see anything. And that sucks.
Oh oh! they're getting into a cab!
One freaky dude, one hot girl, a treasure trove of company secrets to be had.
Then a snap back to the the matter at hand.
Mehari's sportin' a silenced mac-11 for whatever reason. And yes, she has giant eyes! I still need to design a signature title graphic... At least the pencils are done for all the pages.
More story about her life. But how much of it is true?
Once these are done I'm going to pour black ink into them. Make them all dark and scary. But not this page, this page will serve as counter point. Bright and cheery in defiance of the rest of the story's mood. The plan (and I hope I can remember the plan) is to wash out all the flashback scenes in white and shrowd the current scenes in black.
Starting a new weekly drawing challenge: Get a page of something done each week. Eh, I know the title sucks, but what ya gonna do?
